Starting from November 2025, Italy will officially launch the new CEnT-S Exam for Italy, a unified English-language admission test that is developed by Consortium of Interuniversity Integrated Systems (CISIA). This new CISIA test in Italy is introduced as a single, standardized entry assessment, and is designed to replace the older English TOLC tests (TOLC-E, TOLC-1, and TOLC-F). To successfully qualify the CEnT-S exam for Italy, it is important to understand its structure. The test format consists of 55 questions across five sections. Each section assesses students analytical and problem-solving ability in different subjects.

After the test, students immediately get a summary of correct, incorrect, and unanswered questions. However, the report with the score will be available only at the end of the macro-period of delivery of tests.
The score of the students gets normalized at the end of all macro-periods. This final normalized score fairness across varying test versions. Therefore, this final normalized score is the official admission score used by Italian universities. Normalization adjusts scores to account for differences in test difficulty, ensuring that all the students are evaluated on equal terms.

The CEnT-S score is valid for one academic year from the date of the test.
Yes, CEnT-S test offers two modes to the students – UNI and Home. Therefore students can opt for @Home mode to take the test remotely.
For the academic session 2025-26, the exam fee for CEnT exam is €55. Students are required to pay this fee during online registration.
Currently, the CEnT-S exam score is mainly required for English-taught undergraduate programs. However, some universities are considering incorporating the test results for integrated Master’s courses as well.
